The Club’s Ball – held in October at Chester Racecourse – raised £37,000 and cheques were recently presented to the nominated charities at a drinks-and-canapés’ reception at Rowton Hall Hotel.
The two main recipients, the Brainwave Children’s Charity and the Neuro Therapy Centre, each received £16,000, with balance going to the CBC Charity Purse to support other charitable causes.
The Ball Headline Sponsors were Crime Prevention Services, with other much appreciated sponsorship coming from Boodles, Leonard Curtis Business Consultants and Haines Watts Chartered Accountants.
The coffers received a healthy financial boost from the Auction, with a sterling performance from Fraser Crewe (BA Commercial Property Agents) wielding the hammer.
The Ball Chairman Abi Smith said, ‘The financial outcome was the best ever for the Club and the Charities but, also important, was the support we had from Club members and their guests – another sell-out occasion – for enthusiastically supporting the event and their generosity in the auction and other fundraising activities on the night.’
