Chester Business Club members enjoyed an exciting day at the Chester FC match against Scarborough, where they witnessed a resounding 3-0 victory. Among the attendees was legendary Chester FC goalkeeper Dennis Reeves, who played 139 games for the Blues. Reeves, now 79, joined a group of Chester Business Club members and guests, including Bishop Mark Tanner, for the match on Saturday, February 10.
Jan Chillery, Chair of Chester Business Club, expressed her delight at the team’s performance, saying, “It was fantastic to see Chester FC win in such style. The team is a credit to our city, and we’re proud to support them as they push for promotion.” She emphasized the growing relationship between Chester Business Club and Chester FC, noting the club’s significant role in the community.
The day was made even more memorable by Dennis Reeves’ presence, with Chillery adding, “Having a Blues legend like Dennis with us, sharing stories over lunch, truly made it a day to remember.” The event included a pre-match lunch in the Legends Lounge and premium seating in the directors’ area, where the CBC members and guests enjoyed the match alongside Scarborough Athletic directors.
Reflecting on the event, Chillery said, “I’m eagerly anticipating our next visit to Chester FC and hope to see more success from the team. The Chester Business Club wishes them all the best for the remainder of the season.”
The visit coincided with Chester FC’s recent announcement of Albert Davies as their new general manager, a role he steps into after nearly six years with the club, most recently serving as communications manager and football administrator.
