CBC Charity Walk – Sunday 20 September 2026
Join us for one of Chester Business Club’s most popular community events as we walk together to support local charities and strengthen connections across our region.
Whether you are walking with colleagues, friends, family or your dog, everyone is welcome.
There is no entry fee. Simply choose a charity to support and raise funds for a cause that matters to you.

Start & Finish Venue: Chester Racecourse
What to Expect:
Participants will follow the traditional Charity Walk route around Chester, enjoying refreshments and networking opportunities along the way.
Refreshment points include:
- Mars Bars at start of Duke’s Drive
- Orange Juice at end of Duke’s Drive
- Fresh Frult Bowl at Eccleston Primary School carpark.
- G&T/Soft Drink at Racecourse
The walk begins and concludes at Chester Racecourse, where participants can celebrate their achievement together.

When is the CBC Charity Walk 2026?
The walk will take place on Sunday 20 September 2026. It will start at 11.00 am at Chester Racecourse and finish at the same location.
Please arrive early to allow enough time for registration
How long is the walk?
The main route is approximately seven miles, starting at Chester Racecourse and passing through some of Chester’s most scenic areas before returning to the Racecourse.
This is a community charity walk, not a race. Participants are encouraged to enjoy the route and complete it at a comfortable pace.
Is there an entry fee?
No. The CBC Charity Walk is completely free to enter.
The purpose of the event is to bring the community together while helping local charities raise essential funds.
Who can take part?
The walk is open to people of all ages and abilities. Individuals, families, groups of friends, community organisations and business teams are all welcome.
Children and young people must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult throughout the event.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. Dogs are very welcome to join the walk.
Owners are responsible for keeping their dogs under control, using a lead when appropriate and bringing everything they need for the route, including water and waste bags.
Is there an accessible route?
Yes. An alternative accessible route is available for participants who may not be able to complete the full seven-mile route.
Please let the organisers know about any mobility or accessibility requirements when registering so that the team can provide the most appropriate information and support.
Which charity will my fundraising support?
Each participant can choose which participating charity they would like to support. The funds you raise will go directly to your selected charity rather than being divided between all the charities involved.
The three headline charities for 2026 are:

- Cheshire Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre, RASASC
A number of additional local charities are also participating. You can view the full list and select your chosen charity when registering.
Do I have to raise a minimum amount?
There is no minimum fundraising requirement. Walkers are encouraged to raise whatever they can for their selected charity.
Every donation makes a difference. Sharing your fundraising page with friends, family, colleagues and professional networks can help your chosen charity reach more people.
Will refreshments be provided?
Yes. Participants can enjoy :

There will also be goody bags and surprise prizes for dogs during the event.
Is lunch available after the walk?

Places should be reserved in advance and will be subject to availability.
What should I bring?
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing suitable for the weather.
We also recommend bringing a hat, any personal medication you may require, and suitable sun protection depending on the forecast.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes. Advance registration helps the organisers plan refreshments, accessibility support, route arrangements and participant safety.
Please complete the registration form and select the charity you would like to support before the event.
Can my company or organisation enter a team?
Yes. Businesses, schools, charities, community groups and other organisations are encouraged to enter teams.
Taking part as a team is a positive way to support the local community, strengthen relationships and raise funds together for a cause that matters to your organisation.
