Club President Julie Mogan has secured Sir Phil Redmond to speak at her President’s (our Annual) Dinner.
Sir Phil is the creator of a number of iconic television programmes – notably the gritty series Grange Hill, Brookside and Hollyoaks – through his independent production company Mersey Television.
A longstanding ambassadorial campaigner for Liverpool and Merseyside, not least through his chairmanship of National Museums Liverpool and of the UK City of Culture Independent Advisory Panel.
An Ambassador Fellow at Liverpool John Moores University, he was also awarded the Honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (D.Litt) from the University of Chester.
Awarded a CBE in 2004, Phil Redmond was knighted in 2020 for his services to broadcasting and the arts.
His wife, Lady Alexis Redmond, is the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire and she will be joining us at the President’s Dinner.
