The Club is very pleased to announce that Simon Dowell, Conservation Science & Policy Director at Chester Zoo will be Guest of Honour and Speaker at the first Club Dinner of 2024.
For the last 7 years, Simon has been responsible for developing and delivering the zoo’s strategy for science, research and education to ensure that they fulfil their mission of preventing extinction. His work on threatened endemic birds in China is a major part of Chester Zoo’s Sichuan Forest Biodiversity Project which he has co-ordinated for a number of years and for which he was previously awarded the Zoo’s Honorary Conservation Fellowship.
Simon is driven by a passion for wildlife and its conservation and by the firm belief in the transformative power of education in people’s lives at any age.
The evening starts with a reception drink, followed by a 3 course meal.
The evening will be raising money for Chester Zoo on the evening.
