Communities in Cheshire and Warrington are at breaking point.
The voluntary organisations we fund are telling us that vulnerable residents are really frightened, with tens of thousands of families facing a winter without heat and food.
• Estimates suggest deaths due to cold homes will be 20% higher this year
• Demand for emergency food support in Warrington has nearly tripled since January and a foodbank in Ellesmere Port recently ran out of food.
• Food support services say requests for food that does not need to be cooked have risen by 50%
Faced with the overwhelming need generated by the current crisis it can be hard to know how best to support those facing hardship through these difficult times.
By donating to CCF’s Cheshire & Warrington Cost of Living Crisis Appeal you will have the satisfaction of knowing that every single penny you give has been used effectively and strategically, making a huge difference to local people who are struggling to make ends meet.
We’re working with charities and frontline organisations to deliver warmth and well-being projects to support older people, families, children, care-leavers and many more of our most vulnerable local neighbours.
We need to build this fund by the middle of January, to ensure it is distributed when it will have the most impact, so whether you’re planning a Christmas jumper day, a raffle or making a corporate charitable donation, please help us bring emergency support to our communities this winter.
