Chester Business Club is hosting another Virtual Club Meeting. Join us on Friday 27th November 2020, at 4pm with guest speaker is Katrina Kerr Chairman of CH1 Chester BID, (Chester Business Improvement District).
CH1 Chester BID is a business-led initiative. It covers a defined area of the city centre with the purpose of ‘creating an enticing overall visitor experience and ensuring continued investment and improvements in the city’ in order to make our city ‘a retail, business and leisure destination of choice’.
The member businesses (some 450) contribute a levy equal to 1% of their premises’ rateable value every year to fund a wide range of improvements identified by the businesses themselves and set out in the BID business plan. (In addition to the levy, BID also draws on other public and private funding streams.)
Now in its second 5-year term (voted on by local businesses), BID is currently under-taking an operational review as Chester grapples with the effects of Covid-19 and plans for a post-virus recovery.
