We invite our members and their guests to the remarkable Bishop Lloyd’s Palace, one
of the very finest examples of timber-framed Elizabethan structures in Chester.
On 22 June doors will open at 5pm for wine and light refreshments, and the opportunity to appreciate the
amazing detail of the ceiling plasterwork and the magnificent fireplaces in these historic rooms.
From the first Elizabethan era we will then turn to the future, as Chester Business Club members can learn
about green issues which are becoming increasingly important to customers and stakeholders.
From 5:45pm we have presentations from:
Niall MacFadyen who will talk about the jobs and skills demand in the area on the back of the Track 1 win for Carbon Capture. He will explain how the former Hydro building at the Old Dee Bridge could be used as an
education centre. Niall is a member of the Cheshire West & Chester Council climate emergency task force
and a member of the advisory council for carbon capture research in the UK.
Steve Hughes, chair of the Sustainability Forum, will talk about biodiversity, his eco business (forest city
projects) and the work of the Chester Sustainability Forum.
Members attention is also drawn to the various initiatives by CWAC such as the one below and we hope to
have a presentation about these initiatives at this event.
