CBC Member Spotlight. Dan Stockley

The members of Chester Business Club are business leaders from a wide range of sectors and professions. We are publishing a series of “Member Spotlight” interviews with Club members, this time with Dan Stockley, co-founder and MD of Vista North West Ltd.

Q: Dan, what inspired you to start Vista North West?
After years in the insurance industry, I saw a real need for a brokerage that genuinely understood the local business landscape. Vista North West was born from that vision—to offer independent, bespoke insurance solutions to SMEs and individuals across Cheshire, Merseyside, and the wider North West. We’re not just about policies; we’re about partnerships.

Q: What sets Vista NW apart from other insurance brokers?
We’re proudly independent, which means we’re not tied to any one provider. That gives us the freedom to find the best solutions for our clients. But more than that, we’re deeply embedded in the region. We know the businesses here, we understand their challenges, and we’re committed to helping them grow with confidence. Our approach is straight-talking, responsive, and always personal.

Q: You talk a lot about relationships. Why is that so important to you?
Insurance is a people business. We’re not here for a quick win—we’re here to build lasting relationships. That means investing time to understand each client’s needs, being proactive with advice, and being there when things go wrong. Our clients know they can trust us to protect what matters most.

Q: What kind of clients do you typically work with?
We work with a wide range—from SMEs in manufacturing and logistics to high-net-worth individuals with complex asset portfolios. We also specialise in niche and emerging risk areas, which keeps things interesting. Our team is sector-specific, so clients get advice from people who truly understand their industry.

Q: Vista NW seems very active in the community. Can you tell us more?
Absolutely. We sponsor local initiatives like the Chester Nomads Veterans football team, which I actually play for! Supporting the community is part of our DNA. We also work closely with regional business leaders to ensure they have the protection they need to thrive.

Q: What’s been a highlight for you since launching Vista NW?
Celebrating our first year of trading was a big moment. It validated everything we set out to do—proving that there’s a real appetite for independent, client-first insurance advice. We’ve grown quickly, but we’ve stayed true to our values.

Q: What’s next for you and Vista NW?
We’re focused on expanding our reach while maintaining the high level of service our clients expect. That means staying ahead of market changes, embracing innovation, and continuing to build a team that shares our commitment to excellence.

Q: When you’re not working, where might we find you?
On the football pitch with the Chester Nomads Veterans, playing golf or spending time with family. I also enjoy keeping up with developments in the insurance world—it’s a fast-moving industry, and I like being ahead of the curve.

Q: And finally, tell us why you’re a member of Chester Business Club!

I’m a member of Chester Business Club because it is a true community of people looking to support and assist it’s fellow members, not 6am starts hunting down the next business card for individual gain.  I have met a lot of great people through the Business Club to date and I look forward to meeting many more in the future.
