Members Supper “Generational Boardroom Diversity”

19/11/2024 6:00 pm

Mercure Hotel, Christleton

** BOOKING NOW CLOSED **

Diversity in the Boardroom increases profitability in the longer term: different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences are critical to staying agile and competitive in a fast-changing marketplace (KPMG)

This CBC members’ supper is themed on Generational Boardroom Diversity. It’s a great opportunity to bring someone from the NextGen to develop their soft skills and get career-ready.

Diversity and inclusion results in more rounded and better decision-making, improving profitability and long-term business survival. Young people are seen as “digital natives” as well as being capable of bringing many other insights and perspectives to the Boardroom. Companies that fail to see ahead, fail (think Nokia, Kodak, Netscape, Blockbuster).

For the first time in history, we have 5 generations in the UK workforce Can 5 Generations Coexist In The Workplace? (forbes.com)

– Traditionalists—born 1925 to 1945

– Baby Boomers—born 1946 to 1964

– Generation X—born 1965 to 1980

– Millennials—born 1981 to 2000

– Generation Z—born 2001 to 2020

Different generations can have differing priorities, such as eco-friendly business practices, and attitudes, such as workplace dress and activities.

Unfortunately, we don’t always have good intergenerational communication skills, making it difficult to discuss and agree business objectives.

Author and consultant Alison Blackler of 2-Minds 2minds | A warm workplace culture welcome (2-minds.co.uk) will be facilitating a fun and thought-provoking discussion around the dinner table.

This event is for CBC members and their guests only. We encourage members to bring one or two guests of a different generation.
