Cheshire West and Chester Council have launched a dedicated website all about the One City Plan.
CWAC describes the OCP as a plan and vision that prioritises inclusivity and sustainability to ensure a healthier, greener and fairer city, to future-proof Chester for the next twenty years.
First published in 2012, the One City Plan set out a strategic vision and regeneration priorities for the future of Chester over a 15-year period. This resulted in over fifty projects with a combined investment of almost £1 billion.
Projects include the Storyhouse, the Northgate Arena refurbishment, Shot Tower area regeneration and many more. These projects have all created jobs, increased tourism and given Chester a positive economic boost.
Delivering the plan are five working groups that build upon existing networks and established groups:
Each group is shaping, championing and coordinating the physical development of the city to meet the sustainability objectives of the One City Plan. Each group is chaired by a lead partner and includes representatives from CWAC and relevant individuals and organisations.
