‘Uplifting and Inspirational’ Speech by Moneypenny Founder Rachel Clacher at Club Dinner

“In having Rachel Clacher with us this evening, we are privileged to welcome one of the UK’s leading female entrepreneurs,” said chairman Paddy Gill in introducing the co-founder of the Moneypenny organization at Club Dinner on April 26th.

Rachel set up the Wrexham-based company with her brother Ed Reeves in 2000. It is now the UK’s biggest call-answering service – answering hundreds of thousand calls of calls and live chat messages on behalf of more than 10,000 UK-based businesses – and has based its recruitment strategy on ‘attitude rather than aptitude’.

It’s clearly a formula that works, given that it’s one of our country’s Top Five companies to work for, and is one of the most sought-after employers, with a staff absentee rate that is 28 per cent lower than the national average.

Rachel has also set up an employment and life skills charity called We Mind The Gap, through which she helps ‘under-served young girls in the Wrexham area obtain a better start in life and work’. To mark Rachel’s visit to speak to the Club, CBC made a donation to this charity.
